Maintain subscriber engagement with the use of Subscription Topics! Topics allow your subscribers flexibility to manage their interests by opting in and/or out of specific content.
Navigate to Settings > Email Set up > Subscription Management to begin Managing your Topics.
Managing Topics (Preview, Add, and Delete)
Preview
What do recipients see? Click Preview to review how the Subscription Management Page looks to subscribers:
- Navigate to Settings > Email Set up > Subscription Management
- Click on Preview as shown here:
Add a Topic
To add a Topic to the subscription management page:
- Click + next to Preview to add a new topic to the list
- Click on Topic Title, Subscriber Title, or Description to edit the text subscribers will see on their Subscription Management page:
The default Topic Title, Subscriber Title, and Description will not be shown to people on their subscription management page until the Subscriber Topic title is edited. In all cases, the Description will not be shown to subscribers until it is adjusted.
Delete a Topic
To Delete a Topic, click on the three-dot menu (•••) within the specific Topic to select Delete:
Assign Topics to Workflows
By assigning Topics to Workflows, you can use the Resubscribe/Unsubscribe Events to trigger workflows as a way to follow up with desired Workflow Actions.
To assign a Workflow to a Topic:
- Click ••• next to any topic
- Click Manage this topic
- Select one or more desired Workflows to assign from the drop-down menu:
Workflows can only be assigned to one Topic at a time. If you select a Workflow already assigned to another Topic, the Workflow will automatically be removed from the previous topic and assigned to the current one being configured.
Assign Topics to Single Email Campaigns
Assigning Topics to your Single Email Campaigns helps your subscribers fine-tune what content they’d like to receive such as Promotions or Newsletters.
To assign a Topic to a Single Email Campaign:
- Set your Sending to Segment to populate the Subscription Topics dropdown
- Select the Topic related to your email:
You can also assign a Topic to your Single Email Campaign via the campaigns page as shown here:
To remove a Topic, return to the Campaigns page and click the “x” next to the Topic name:
You can only assign one Topic per Single Email Campaign.
Assigned Topics (View/Delete Topics)
To view or delete assigned Workflows from a Topic:
- Click ••• next to any topic
- Click Manage this topic
- Expand the list of assigned Workflows to View/Delete assigned Workflows:
Workflow Triggers
Automate a subscriber’s behavior when Resubscribing or Unsubscribing to a specific topic on the subscription management page using Topic Events.
When a topic is added, people are subscribed to it by default therefore a “Subscribed to a topic” event does not exist. To perform the “Resubscribe to a topic” trigger in the workflow, subscribers would have to first unsubscribe and then choose to resubscribe on the subscription management page.

You can segment who is subscribed or unsubscribed to a Topic with the Workflow Topic segment filter:
