If you joined Drip after June 2020, your account allows a maximum of 50 active Workflows
To create a Workflow:
- Go to Workflows > Workflows
- Click + New Workflow
- Give the Workflow a name
- Build out your Workflow
- Turn on the workflow trigger(s) when you’re ready for people to enter the workflow
Once the workflow is created, you’ll land in the workflow builder. This is where you will select the triggers, actions, and other steps to build the rest of your workflow. Unless you’ve installed one of our Shareable Workflows, you’ll see a blank workflow.
When the workflow trigger is enabled, any person that satisfies the Trigger from that point on enters into the automation. Workflow Triggers are not retroactive and will not trigger for people that already met the trigger criteria.
If you're new to Workflows, read our Getting Started with Workflows Guide.
Workflow Components
Workflows are made up of a series of components that automate your marketing strategies. Add a Workflow component by clicking on the + icon where you want to add the component. Select the component you'd like to add and click Update.
Action
Actions are the steps required for people to reach your Goal. You can perform a selected task on a person such as apply a tag, send to a campaign and more. An action can come from Drip or from another integrated provider such as Facebook.
Decision
Split a path into two branches “Yes” or “No.” Decisions examine a person's data based on a given conditional and determine one of two paths the person will proceed.
Parallel Path (Legacy)
Sends a person down simultaneous paths at the same time. Each path may consist of additional steps.
Goal
What you want people to achieve in a Workflow. The steps between the Trigger and the Goal drive people towards the end Goal. When somebody who’s active in a Workflow achieves the Goal, they are pulled down to that point in the Workflow.
Delay
Allow you to hold people at a specific point in a Workflow for a certain amount of time (minutes, hours, or days).
Split Test
Run a series of marketing tactics against another series to determine which is more effective.
Exit
Removes a person from the Workflow. All Workflows contain an Exit step at the lowest most point.
