Create and optimize your emails in Drip with our Single Email Campaign builder. Here’s how it works:
- Choose what kind of email you're sending.
- Choose your recipients.
- Create your email.
- Add variations for split testing.
- Send your email!
Split test up to four subject line or email content variations. Then see opens, clicks, and revenue for each variation on the Campaign Dashboard to optimize subject lines for future sends.
Segmentation is a crucial part of your marketing strategy. Instead of sending a cast and blast email, Drip provides recommended segments to help you increase engagement and decrease the risk of brand fatigue.
For example, if you’re sending a promotional discount email, we’ll automatically exclude people who recently purchased with a discount from the recipients. Or, we’ll ensure that you don’t turn off new customers by sending them multiple discounts before they’ve made a purchase from you.
Create a Single Email Campaign
- Go to Campaigns > Single Emails > + New Single Email Campaign
- Give your Single Email Campaign email a name, and add an optional description if desired.
- Choose your recipients under Sending to - you can choose a saved segment or a one-time segment.
Your recipient list will update dynamically based on your segment filters until the email is queued for sending. This usually occurs about twenty minutes in advance of your scheduled sending time.
- Determine if your email is Commercial or Transactional. (Not sure what that means? Check out the CAN-SPAM Act .)
- Create your email with one of our Email Builders
- If you want to use our Text/HTML builder, you can find that option underneath the Visual Email Builder Templates
- Click Done Editing when you're finished designing your email
- Add up to four subject line variations
- Add up to four email content variations.
You can't do both a subject line AND a content split test.
- If you've selected Split Testing, choose your Split Test Settings. You can select Winning Criteria, Test Pool Size, and Test Duration. By default, "Click Through Rate," a Test pool size of 30%, and a Test duration of 2 hours are chosen.
- Choose a date and time to send your email
- Select a date and subject line to Resend email to people who don’t open it. If no new subject line is given, the resend includes the same subject line as the first email.
When scheduling a Single Email Campaign in a person’s local timezone, it must be at least 19 hours in advance of all local timezones it’s sending to. If it’s less than 19 hours before when you’re trying to schedule it, you will not be able to schedule the Single Email Campaign.
- Click Schedule or Send Immediately
You’ll be redirected to the Campaign Dashboard while your email is sending. Once your email is sent, results will be reported on the Dashboard.
Please note that although you can schedule a Campaign according to your User timezone, the timestamp will reflect in the Account Owner's timezone once scheduled according to their Settings.
When a Single Email Campaign is scheduled to send immediately, there may be a slight delay and the email can remain in the queue for up to twenty minutes before it's sent.
