There are three ways to perform a bulk operation in Drip: upload a list of people via CSV file, enter a list of emails, and choose a segment via the People filter. Bulk operations consist of three steps: choose people for the operation, select automation actions and schedule the operation.
Enter a List of Email Addresses
- Go to People > Bulk Operations
- Click + New Bulk Operation
- Select Begin under Enter a list of emails
- Enter one email address per line
- The option to Tag these people as "Imported on YY-DD-MM at HH-MM-SS" is turned ON by default
- Click Next
- Select the Automation Actions to apply
- Click Next > Perform Operation
- Click Done to exit the page and view the progress of the operation, or click Cancel this operation to cancel the operation
You have 30 seconds to cancel an operation once it’s been scheduled. After that, operations cannot be canceled or reversed.
You’ll be redirected to the Bulk Operations page where you can see the progress of your operation. The operation will show as pending while it’s processing, and once completed it can be found under Complete bulk operations.
Locate the people you imported into your account by segmenting for the “Imported YY-DD-MM at HH-MM-SS” tag on the People page.
Choose a Segment of Existing People
Select a segment of existing people on your list to include in the Bulk Operation. To select a segment of existing people:
- Go to People > Bulk Operations
- Click + New Bulk Operation
- Select Begin under Choose a segment
- Use the People Filter to select the segment the operation should affect. Leave the filter blank to include your entire list
- Click Next
- Select the Automation Actions to apply
- Click Next > Perform Operation
- Click Done to exit the page and view the progress of the operation, or click Cancel this operation to cancel the operation
Upload a CSV
Upload a comma-separated value (CSV) file into your account with the email addresses to include in the Bulk Operation.
When importing, Drip will search the CSV for valid email addresses to import. If you find a discrepancy between the number of rows and the number of emails being imported on Drip's end, check your CSV for duplicate emails, invalid email addresses, or blank email rows.
- Go to People > Bulk Operations
- Click + New Bulk Operation
- Select Begin under Upload a list of people
- Upload or drag and drop your CSV file
- The box to Treat the first row in your file as headers is turned ON by default
