Overview
Drip is required to collect and remit sales tax on behalf of customers in certain jurisdictions. This is based on your local sales tax laws and regulations.
Currently, if you are not based in the US, you will not be subject to sales tax for Drip services.
Viewing Sales Tax
Taxes charged will be viewable on your Drip invoice mailed to you each month and viewable on your Account/Billing page. Sales tax will appear as a separate line item.
Tax Exemption
If your organization is tax-exempt, please reach out to Customer Support. You will need to provide relevant documentation, which varies based on your location.
How We Determine Taxability
Whether or not you're subject to sales tax depends on your Billing Address and your local laws. Your Billing Address is either the address associated with your credit card or another physical location where your business has a presence. You can update your address for tax purposes by editing the "Billing Address" section of the Account/Billing page in Drip:
Drip might also store up to two additional addresses associated with your account:
-
Postal Address: this is shown in your outbound emails in accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act. You can set a default in the Basic Email Settings page in Drip, and you can customize the postal address on a per-email basis.
-
Company Address: this is shown on invoices and will generally be the same as your Billing Address. If you need to show other information on your invoices, you can edit the Company address section of the Account/Billing page.
