Custom Fields store data in identifier/value pairs. They are generally used to maintain data that is unique to an individual subscriber, such as their first name. Custom fields also allow you to include personalized information in the emails you send.
Here’s an example of a custom field identifier and its value:
As you can see, this subscriber has a “first_name” custom field identifier that holds “Rob” as its value.
When creating custom field identifiers, always use an underscore to separate two or more words that would normally be separated by a space. When using Liquid for email personalization, take note of how you create your custom field identifiers, as they are case sensitive. Custom field identifiers should only contain letters, numbers, and underscores. Custom field values are limited to 1000 characters each.
To see a list of custom fields that are currently in your Drip account, go to Subscribers > Custom Fields:

To the right of the custom field name, click the Edit button. Then enter the new name you'd like to use for the custom field identifier.
There are two ways you can delete custom fields in Drip.
The first way will perform a mass delete of that custom field for all subscribers with data stored in that field.
To delete a custom field for all subscribers, go to Subscribers > Custom Fields and search for the field you wish to delete.
Click the drop-down and click Delete.
Finally, click the I’m sure, delete this field button to complete the delete action.
If you would like to delete a custom field only for a single subscriber, go to the subscriber’s profile and delete the custom field under Tags & Custom Fields by clicking the x icon directly to the right of the field.
After clicking the x icon, you have a final chance to Undo the action.
Otherwise, click the Save button to delete the field.
