Immediately remove a subscriber from a workflow with Exits. You can strategically use Exits to prevent subscribers from remaining stuck in a workflow for indefinite periods of time.

Workflows allow you to perform a vast array of steps for your subscribers. Occasionally, you might need to remove subscribers from a workflow when certain conditions are met. Exits make this easy to do.
You’ll notice a built-in exit with each new workflow you create. This exit cannot be altered or removed. You should build any steps you want your subscriber to complete, directly above the workflow’s final exit point.
Here’s a simple Exit example:
Once the subscriber finishes the top delay, they go straight through a decision that checks to see if the subscriber has become a customer within the last 7 days. If the condition is true, they will travel the Yes path and simply exit the workflow. If the condition is false, they will go down the No path to give the subscriber another chance to become a customer.
There is the possibility that the subscriber will never achieve the purchase goal at the bottom of the workflow. If that’s the case, they will remain active in the workflow indefinitely since the purchase goal is the last step to the natural exit to the workflow.
To remedy this, you can add an additional delay, or action steps to give the subscriber a certain amount of time then set another exit right below.

To add Exits to your workflows, click the + icon wherever you would like the action to be set.
When the pop-up appears, select the Exit step.
There are no additional criteria needed to set up the exit and you should see the exit appear in your workflow.
