If you need to track whether or not your subscribers reply to your emails, you can turn on Drip’s Reply Tracking feature. Enabling this feature allows you to use the “Replied to an email” event in your workflows and rules.
To enable reply tracking, Go to Settings > Email Setup > Reply Tracking.
Turn the setting to the on position and click the Save Settings button.
Where do email replies get sent?
When a subscriber replies to an email you've sent through Drip, you might be wondering where exactly that reply ends up. That reply gets sent to the email address you have included in your account settings.
Go to Settings > Account > General Info to view/modify that email address:
How to use Reply Tracking in your automation
In Workflows, this can be used as an automation trigger.
In Rules, the event can be set as its trigger:
It’s important to note that when reply tracking is enabled—in order for Drip to track the reply—we set the email address in the headers to something unique, so that the reply gets tracked by our servers.
Here’s an example of what a reply-to email address looks like to a subscriber when reply tracking is enabled:
As you can see, it sets the reply-to email address to this formula:
If you are concerned about your subscribers seeing the reply-to email as anything other than your actual email address, you can add a short explanation in your email copy to let them know why the email address is constructed in that way. Or, you can disable the feature altogether.
