We understand how much work has gone into growing your subscriber base, but you may end up having a need to delete subscribers here and there. To remove subscribers based on email inactivity, check out this doc on pruning subscribers.
Deleting subscribers will delete all of their subscriber data and cannot be retrieved or undone, so if you would like to archive those subscriber’s data, we would recommend exporting the data to a CSV file. Check out how to export subscriber data from Drip.
In this example, we'll be deleting any subscriber currently holding the "cancelled account" tag. Follow along and use one of your own tags if you'd like.
Create the bulk operation
First, go ahead and create a Bulk Operation.
Go to Subscribers > Imports/Bulk Ops > click New Bulk Operation.
Select "Choose a segment of existing subscribers" from the options and click Next.
Find the subscriber segment to delete
Apply the filter that will pull out all the subscribers that have the tag of “cancelled account” applied. Remember that you can add additional filter parameters if needed.
Apply the delete action
Then, apply the "Delete subscriber" action.
Schedule the operation
Finally, schedule the operation to run.
Note: Double check your segment before performing the delete action. This action cannot be undone.
