Drip does not currently support file attachments of any kind. This is less of a "lack of features," and more a practice in good email sending. Email clients such as Google and Yahoo generally flag attachments in bulk email sending as a possible security threat. It is more likely that the email will end up in the spam folder than the inbox, or not get delivered at all.
We suggest linking to any content you would normally attach as a file using a hyperlink in the emails you send through Drip.
Linking to files when sending bulk emails is a better practice for a few reasons:
- Most content and virus-scanning programs view attachments sent from any bulk mailing service as a potential security threat.
- Content and virus-scanning programs block either the attachment or the email entirely if a potential security threat is detected.
- Including a copy of your file in every email to each recipient could take up a lot of bandwidth and increase the size of your emails. Many ISPs and end-users will block emails above a certain size.
Setting up a hyperlink in an email is easy.
Open up the email editor of the email you’d like to include a hyperlink and write out some text, such as “Click here to get your download”, highlight the text with your cursor, and then click the hyperlink button.
Enter the URL that will direct the reader to the content and click the “Insert” button.
